…………We had one of those indecisive buyers, we discussed the price and knew that he could afford it, but he was unwilling to commit thinking that if he played the waiting game he would get the property even cheaper.  Both ourselves and the vendor were fed up with his game plan and we advised him to put the property on housebid21 to flush him out and see if we could get a higher offer from an alternative purchaser.  When the buyer was informed of this decision, and saw the starting price, he immediately made a verbal offer and agreed to purchase the property as long as the house was withdrawn from the site. £15 well spent, thank you! ……….Thought we’d give it a go and what a result!  Listed a property 15% below the original marketing price. First offer we received was a further 10% below the starting price.  Rather than dismissing it we reduced the starting price on housebid21 for the remainder of the term to see if the new lower price would encourage any other interest.  After a couple more offers we ended up selling it for the original starting price but from a new purchaser.  (Venditum – agent)

………..Sold lots of houses over the years, but never seen anything like it.  My agent suggested that I reduce the price on a house I had for sale but I was convinced that someone would come along and give me the money I wanted.  However nothing was happening and so they offered me the chance to go on housebid21. I agreed to a low starting price in order to get lots of interest to bid the property up.  The property received over 20 bids but we didn’t reach my target price.  However I took the offer as I saw how much interest was created over the 21 days and realised that in this market, today, this was the best I was going to get.
